Colleen and James’s wedding in Manchester, Vermont was one for the century. with a truly amazing group of vendors all converging from New York, Boston, and even London, England… every little detail came together so well.

Colleen first gave me a call almost one year before her wedding day. She had a large wedding party with lots of family and friends, all coming in from out of state to her home in Vermont, and was looking for a bridal beauty team who could accommodate a large party as well as deliver the timeless, natural “no makeup, makeup” look she was going for. Now, first of all, I love Vermont. I am biased but I will bend over backwards to do a wedding in Vermont. And my team LOVES a roadtrip. Myself, Ashley S, Gina, Lani, and Veronica all drove up from our respective homes throughout New England for Colleen’s wedding weekend at the end of September. The weather was perfect. Just a light chill in the air. The leaves were still green and trees still full. We could not have asked for a better team to work with in Elizabeth Hall Events. She helped coordinate EVERY single detail that weekend. No thought or detail was forgotten.

What Colleen really wanted and what we here at Alexandra Angelone Bridal always want to deliver is a relaxed get-ready session. The wedding day…the prep leading up to it, the rehearsal dinner, is long. The last thing we want to do on our bride’s wedding day is make the bridal party get up super early when they will be but late into the night dancing to start hair and makeup. So while we could have done the entire party with 4 artists, we brought 5 and had an extra artist on deck on the day of the rehearsal just in case. As you can see from the photo above, Colleen was able to enjoy her morning in peace, coming in and out of the house at her whim and fancy. That is the look we want on all of our bride’s faces.
Photography Lucy Birkhead flew in from London, England and really brought a silent, art nouveau film quality to the images (many taken on black and white film). They are timeless and really capture the beauty and freeness in the moment.
